2017 Pacifica Named a TSP+ by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

If you're in the market for a technology-packed minivan with a proven safety record for your family, you definitely need to check out the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Already one of the most acclaimed vehicles of 2016, the innovative minivan continues to garner accolades every month. The most recent award, announced yesterday, comes in the form of a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

To qualify for the highest "plus" rating, vehicles must offer an available front crash prevention system. The Pacifica's system, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, earned a score of "superior" thanks to its sensor-fusion technology, which combines attributes of radar sensors and cameras for greater precision. Furthermore, Pacifica earned the highest rating of "good" for all five crashworthiness assessments thanks to a reinforced build structure made from 72 percent High-strength steel.

The Pacifica boasts more than 100 available safety and security features, from LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, to 360-degree Surround View, which provides a bird’s eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings – from the driver’s seat.

“Having sold more than 14 million minivans since inventing the segment in 1983, we know what’s important to minivan buyers,” says Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – FCA North America. “The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is the sum of all the knowledge we’ve accumulated about minivans and the people who are proud to own them. Among the things we know – safety is one of the most important purchase reasons and achieving the Top Safety Pick+ rating helps to establish Pacifica as the segment leader.”
